The original palace was built in the 14th century with a castle and moat. We were on our 13th trip through Europe and have not seen it all. You just can’t do it all the first time around. We plan on coming back someday to do the Treasury and the Theater. We purchased the museum ticket that would get us into the Antiquarium and 90 rooms. One could literally spend a day in this museum. Along the walls are Roman busts symbolizing the symbiotic relationship between Ancient Roman empire and the Wittelsback monarchy. A stupendous hall over 200 feet long which became a royal banquet room for over 200 guests. We particularly wanted to see “The Renaissance Antiquarium” that was finished in 1571. Watching YouTube videos inspired us to make a visit to Bavaria’s seat of government for five hundred years.
